Posted on behalf of Trevor Sharp:

Beds skeet shooters took part at this year’s National Inter Counties at Bisley. The whole squad shot on the Saturday which had fine weather for all of us. I don’t know if it was the location or the weather, but a number of our squad put in their best skeet scores.

John Hartog hit his best score with 93, Jacquie Tobitt again her best score of 90 and Ben Pay equalling his with 96, Ben also came 3rd overall in juniors.
Burt Mason & Steve Whinnett put in the highest scores from Bedfordshire, both scoring 98; this was closely followed by Phil Coxall on 97
We also had shooters who had not competed at skeet before. Karen Park, who stepped in at very short notice hit 69 in her first competition. Also in the juniors, Jack Nixon & Dave Ferriman showed promise with scores of 79 & 66 both lads looked to be very nervous at the start, but settled down and soon began middling the clays. All three newcomers enjoyed themselves and have the ability to improve their scores dramatically in the near future.

I would like to thank everyone who took part especially Karen Park for stepping in at late notice and Ben Pay for travelling back from university in Leeds.

The juniors also competed for the vacant county championship with the results above. It won’t be long till Ben hits a perfect 100.

I would like to thank everyone who helped me over the year.
