Bedfordshire County DTL Championship

Once again it’s my pleasure to report on the County DTL Championship held at Northampton S.G. on 26th June 2009. My sincere thanks to all of you for making the effort to come and compete in the event.

The weather was dry with overcast skies with the Sun making occasional appearances throughout the day.  Visibility seemed to good but this was not reflected in the overall scores. The targets this year were again excellent throughout the day with only a few “No Birds”. 

That being said, the overall standard of shooting was not as good as last year, although the worthy winner beat last year’s by a single one point! The winning score of 97/282 by Kevin Parsons was very creditable as the overall high gun was 98/292.  Chasing Kevin hard all the way was Phil Coxall who finished on 96/281.  They were separated only by 1 second barrel kill, although Phil managed more 1st barrels overall.  So when shooting DTL, remember that: “Points mean Prizes”
